Founded in 2010 by Jamie Salter, former CEO of Hilco Consuler Capital, Authentic Brands Group began with an initial investment of $250 million. The company first acquired the rights to the image of official products featuring Marilyn Monroe, then proceeded to buy Juicy Couture for $195 million in 2013.
Today, Authentic Brands Group manages a portfolio of 217 companies, including 50 brands, and works with 800 partners. With a strong presence on social networks, totaling 285 million followers, the New York-based company employs over 11,000 people across its various subsidiaries.
In 2022, Authentic Brands Group recorded sales growth of 54%, topping the billion-dollar mark. Experts predict that sales will increase to over $1.4 billion by 2023.
