Rodenstock, present in the Vintage Altaroc Odyssey 2021, has announced that it has been awarded two labels: Engagé RSE niveau confirmé and Responsability Europe by AFNOR. AFNOR is the French and international leader in standards, training, assessment and certification.
It's thanks to its reduced consumption of raw materials, working with local waste collectors, and other ethical resolutions that the company was able to earn the label this year.
Rodenstock specializes in the manufacture of customized ophthalmic lenses adapted to the individual biometry of each eye.
Between 2014 and 2022, the company worked to reduce its consumption of raw materials, and today boasts a 32% reduction in water and 39% in electricity. The company, and all the employees involved, have also worked with local players, collecting recyclable waste and donating frames and lenses to schools and associations. The company also plays an active role in the collection of used glasses for the Medico Lions Club. In 2023, 22,000 pairs were collected.
The glassmaker intends to become increasingly involved in an eco-responsible approach. On a more local level, Rodenstock is actively involved in preserving the environment, working with local partners to collect recyclable waste and reducing the use of plastic in its packaging.
"This certification is much more than just a label, it gives us an indicator of our performance and a course to follow for years to come, which will help us to make CSR a priority at all levels," concludes the company's General Manager for France, Alexandre Boudin.
