A safety system that puts prevention at the heart of every decision
With a presence at over 295 airports in 65 countries, Menzies Aviation operates in high-risk environments where safety is a top priority. Collaboration with EcoOnline, a company featured in the Vintage Altaroc Odyssey 2021, has enabled Menzies to implement a more efficient, data-driven approach to incident management, risk management and compliance monitoring. Using EcoOnline's EHS (environment, health and safety) solution, Menzies employees are now able to quickly identify risks, make informed decisions and proactively deal with hazards in real time.
Since implementing this technology in 2019, Menzies Aviation has seen notable improvements, such asa 128% increase in risk reporting by employees and a reduction in serious accidents from 1.8 per 1,000 employees in 2019 to 0.7 in 2023.
A constant commitment at every level of the company
Safety is a core value for Menzies, carried by all levels of the organization, from field workers to senior management. "Safety starts with leadership," says Graham Cowing, Vice President of Safety Standards at Menzies Aviation. Every member of the executive team is committed to supporting initiatives such as "Take 10 for Safety", where every board meeting begins with a safety-focused discussion. These discussions are supported by real-time dashboards provided by EcoOnline, keeping safety at the center of strategic decisions and reinforcing accountability at all levels.
MORSE: More than a system, a safety culture
Menzies' safety culture is reflected in its MORSE approach, a mindset, a safety system and events such as the biennial MORSE Week. At the most recent edition, held from October 28 to November 1, 2024, the focus was on emergency response planning, with tools and training designed to strengthen every team's commitment to safety.
Tom Goodmanson, CEO of EcoOnline, concluded: "Thanks to their commitment to safety and collaboration, Menzies Aviation, with the help of EcoOnline, is setting new standards for the industry, ensuring a safer environment for its employees and customers."
