This key contribution illustrates Windar's position as a strategic supplier to the offshore wind industry, particularly in the manufacture of floating structures and other complex components required for the construction of offshore wind farms.
Technological advances and a significant local impact
The wind farm comprises 62 turbines with a capacity of 8 MW each, the most powerful installed in France to date. This initiative generated more than 1,700 jobs during the construction phases, including 500 locally, and involved leading companies in the sector. In all, more than 150 European companies were partners in the project, contributing to its success. The turbines were produced by Siemens-Gamesa at a new plant in Le Havre, while the foundation components, manufactured by Windar, played a crucial role in ensuring the stability and durability of the entire park.
A key contribution to offshore wind power in France
With its scale and local impact, the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm represents a major step forward for the wind energy sector in France, contributing not only to the energy transition, but also to the region's industrial dynamic. Thanks to strategic partnerships with players such as Windar, this project embodies the future of offshore wind power and positions France as a leader in the renewable energy industry, with similar projects in the pipeline.
