Investing in talent
STG places the utmost importance on developing talent, both within the company and among its shareholdings. Chisholm explains: "For our team, we have created the STG University, a program developed over the last 20 years. It covers our entire approach, introducing them to our playbook, our way of thinking about assessment, transformation, etc." This intensive program, designed for STG teams, provides them with comprehensive training in the firm's investment methods and strategy. For its portfolio, STG has also set up the "Rising Stars STG" (known as the Leadership Academy), designed to train the next generation of leaders within its companies. "We offer them a training program, invite them to our offices and provide them with executive coaches to support them in their careers." By focusing on talent development, STG ensures that its companies benefit from competent, well-trained leaders, ready to meet the challenges of the marketplace.
The playbook from STG
The STG playbook is a central tool in the company's transformation strategy. As Bill explains, this document is "a dynamic, evolving guide [...] We make it available to business leaders so they can consult it and interact with its content." Developed and refined over the past two decades, this playbook is an interactive online platform that guides CEOs through the various phases of business transformation. It includes not only proven transformation methods but also benchmarking analyses, providing a robust framework for strategic decisions.
Increasing use of artificial intelligence
STG plans to intensify the use of artificial intelligence within the firm. In an interview with Louis Flamand, Chief Investment Officer at Altaroc, Bill highlighted the opportunity to harness AI to improve the efficiency of business processes both at STG and in his portfolio companies.
