Originally founded by Maurice Tchenio, the management company initially managed the Private Equity funds ofApax, from the launch of the first fund until 2010.

Formerly named Apax Partners SA, it was renamed Amboise Partners in 2018, then Altaroc Partners in 2024, to reflect the evolution of its activities. Since 1995, Altaroc Partners has been committed to promoting the democratization of private equity by acting as Investment Advisor to Altamir, Europe's first listed private equity evergreen company, which provides access via the stock market to a portfolio of leading growth companies, mainly managed by the funds Seven2 (formerly Apax Partners SAS) and Apax Partners LLP.
By way of information,Altaroc Partners' advice has enabled Altamir to generate growth in net asset value of 12.4%/year (13.4%/year for Total Shareholder Return) over the last 10 years (dividend included), which is the best European performance for a listed evergreen fund (Data: Altamir and LPX Europe at 31/12/2023).
In 2021, the asset management company launched the Odyssey range of Vintage funds, formerly Altaroc Global, which enables private clients to build up a Private Equity portfolio of 5 to 7 institutional-quality global funds every year, starting at €100,000.
In 2023, the management company launched Discovery, formerly Altalife, a private equity solution within French life insurance and PER, offering an institutional-quality private equity portfolio, with liquidity guaranteed by the insurer.

Discovery (formerly Altalife) can only be marketed in France.
In 2024, Altaroc Patners began work on a new product, Infinity, , a multi-million-dollar global private equity offering that enables investors to build up a sustainable endowment in the asset class, as institutional investors do.
Altaroc Partners manages 11 funds, including
The four Odyssey Vintage funds - of which the fourth Odyssey 2024 is currently being raised,
L Discovery 2024, formerly Altalife 2023, and Suravenir 1 by Discovery, formerly Suravenir 1 by Altalife. These products are only available in France.
The four AlphaDiamant philanthropic funds that finance the AlphaOmega Foundation, created in 2010 by Maurice Tchenio to support associations working for the educational success of young French people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The management company is also investment advisor to Altamir, a listed company founded in 1995 to provide private clients with access to the private equity asset class via the stock market.

At 12/31/2023, the amounts advised by the management company totaled 1.3 billion euros, and the amounts under management 500 million euros.

Altaroc Partners signed the PRI (Principles for Responsible Investment) in 2021, thereby committing to integrate responsible criteria into its fund management and investment policy(www.unpri.org).
