About ABB E-Mobility

ABB E-Mobility is a Swiss company specializing in charging solutions for electric vehicles.

The company offers a wide range of products, from fast charging stations used on freeways to home chargers. ABB E-Mobility stands out for its intelligent energy management solutions that reduce electricity costs for electric vehicle owners while optimizing energy use. The company is a subsidiary of ABB, the global electrical and automation giant with over 130 years of experience and more than 105,000 employees worldwide.

As market leader, ABB E-Mobility expects to increase its sales by 45% in 2022, thanks to its presence on all continents and contracts signed with carmakers such as Porsche.

In February 2023, ABB E-Mobility delivered its millionth electric vehicle charger, reaching a new milestone in its ongoing mission to deliver a zero-carbon future.

Present in over 85 markets, ABB E-mobility has doubled its production capacity since its creation, thanks to the launch in 2022 of its new 16,000 m2, $30 million production site in Valdarno, Italy. This cutting-edge manufacturing facility will set a new benchmark in the sector, with seven production lines enabling the company to produce a rapid charger every 20 minutes.

The company has also opened a production site in the USA, which will produce up to 10,000 chargers a year for public charging, school buses and car fleets. The transport sector is one of the main contributors to CO2 emissions worldwide.

Around 24% of all emissions come from this sector, and over 75% of these are due to road transport. Aviation emissions account for just 11% of transport emissions, while private cars are responsible for 60% of road transport emissions in the EU.

Electric mobility combined with renewable energy production can therefore significantly reduce CO2 emissions worldwide.
