Instead of assessing performance solely on the basis of IRR (internal rate of return), the indicator traditionally used by Private Equity firms to measure the performance of their funds, this ranking combines six indicators aimed at capturing fund performance. These included having deployed at least two funds between 2009 and 2018, having raised more than $3 billion over this period, and having more than 10 years of performance to analyze.
