Financial products with the highest returns have long been reserved for the most sophisticated investors. Among them, Private Equity, an asset class we consider to be the best-performing over the long term, is opening up to retail investors.
In an article published in Les Echos on December 3, 2020, Emmanuel Schafroth explains that, over the long term, the performance potential of Private Equity is almost twice that of the CAC 40 (11.4% annual average over the past 15 years, according to France Invest, i.e. 500 to 700 bps more than the equity markets). The journalist also stresses the lower volatility of this asset class... and also its diversification, which, it cannot be stressed enough, helps to limit risk for investors.
