Vintage Altaroc Odyssey 2022. This ambitious project, carried out in partnership with EDF Renouvelables, represents a major step forward for the renewable energy sector in France, and marks a key milestone for Windar in its expansion into the offshore wind market.
Strategic collaboration to strengthen France's offshore wind industry
The wind towers, manufactured at Windar's plant in Avilés, Spain, are designed to support SWT-7.0-154 turbines, which were produced at the Le Havre plant in France.
With a capacity of 497 MW, the Fécamp offshore wind farm is now the most powerful in France. It will be capable of supplying electricity to almost 770,000 people, making a significant contribution to the country's energy transition. France is aiming to achieve a 33% share of renewable energy in its energy mix by 2030.
With this project, Windar continues to play a key role in reducing the world's carbon footprint. Since its inception, the company has produced over 42,000 wind turbine components, helping to save 13 million tonnes ofCO2. By consolidating its presence in offshore markets, Windar is well positioned to meet the growing needs of the renewable energy sector and to support the global goal of decarbonization.
