After 8 years with Metlife Investment Management, where he headed the London-based Private Equity team, Louis Flamand joined Altaroc a few months ago as Chief Investment Officer. He then managed a total Private Equity exposure of $5 billion, and is now responsible for fund selection and co-investments for Altaroc.
As he explains in an interview with CIO World, " Altaroc offers access to institutional Private Equity through annual funds of funds, 80% of which are dedicated to 5-7 buyout and/or Growth equity funds, and 20% are allocated to co-investments. Our entry point starts at 100,000 euros for our annual funds of funds Altaroc and at just 1,000 euros for our Discovery funds of funds, accessible via guaranteed liquidity life insurance policies in France. Operating on a B2B2C model, we reach individuals through independent financial advisors and private banks. "
When asked about the challenges ahead for the asset class and access to private clients, Louis Flamand speaks of a revolution: " Altaroc is at the forefront of the democratization of Private Equity for individuals, thanks to a 100% digital offering. To succeed in offering private clients access to Private Equity, we had to face many challenges: the need for capital, technological innovation and the need for a wide range of skills in the fields of digital, investment, marketing, education and understanding of regulations".
